Large collection of Free Learning Material



Got some free time and want to spend it to learn something new, here is a list of some of the resources you can use for learning new topics in science and technology or some new programming languages. Some of these include E-books from  NASA and Microsoft and lectures and notes from other sources


NASA  Ebooks from NASA- These are some of the ebooks from NASA which provides info. on the aeronautics, aerodynamics working of satellites, space shuttles and space suits used by its astronauts. NASA also gives some ebooks on the history of its various past projects. 
At present NASA is offering some 25 ebooks. You can get them at http://www.nasa.gov/connect/ebooks/index.html

 

Microsoft  Ebooks from Microsoft- A large collection of ebooks provided by Microsoft for the various Microsoft technologies. These are meant for developers, who want to build softwares for windows, for IT professionals and for common home users who just wan to learn the basics of Microsoft technologies.

Google  Google also provides online learning material- primarily programming language classes- through its Google Code University. It is currently providing programming language courses, web programming courses, web security and algorithm courses and programming with its self-developed language GO.
It also provides tutorials on Databases and working on Linux. You can access Google code university at http://code.google.com/edu/ or on the University Consortium.

 

NPTEL Some of the leading sources for material on Engineering and research topics include NPTEL and MIT opencourse ware. NPTEL provides E-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Science and humanities streams. The mission of NPTEL is to enhance the quality of Engineering education in the country by providing free online courseware.

It is a joint initiative of the seven IIT's of India and Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. You can access the entire stream of e-learning sources at http://nptel.iitm.ac.in/

MIT One of the world's most prestigious institutes MIT also offers the materials used in the teaching of MIT's subjects available on the Web. You can get a wide array of topics from the engineering field here.
