In a move to maintain its competitiveness Research In Motion(RIM) has launched another playbook tablet in its home country in Canada. The new tablet has a built in support for the faster 4G LTE Networks which its predecessors lacked.
The new Playbook comes with 32GB of storage and 7inch screen and a new version of its OS Playbook OS2.0.1. The new Version of the OS will also be available to existing owners of Playbook. Another new addition is the Blackberry Video Store. The app is available for download in the BlackBerry App World store. It contains a video catalog filled with thousands of movies and television shows, with new releases to come on the day as they are released on DVD.
Canada is the first country to launch the 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, and additional models supporting various high speed cellular networks are expected to be available in the coming months from carriers in the US, Europe, South Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
But the PlayBook was widely criticized at launch for lacking basic features such as email, and it has failed to wow consumers despite sharply discounted pricing and a major software upgrade.
