Apple and Samsung Electronics will battle another trial on Monday
for their supremacy in smartphone market in a federal courtroom in San
Jose,California. This trial is said to be one of the biggest ever
technology trials in history. It could well reshape a the smartphone
market.
The stakes are high with Samsung facing potential US sales ban of its Galaxy smartphones and tablet computers, and Apple in a test of its patent strategy. Both sides are seeking financial damages from the other. Samsung is the world's biggest smartphone maker overtaking Nokia and Apple. Together, Samsung and Apple account for more than half of smartphone sales initially.
Apple sued Samsung last year claiming its smartphones copied the iPhone and ipad. Samsung also sued Apple and since then the two have expanded their fight to courtrooms in nearly a dozen other countries.

Apple is seeking 2.53 billion in damages but loss for Samsung could lead to permanent ban of its products including the Galaxy S3 if Apple later asks The judge to do so. Recently Samsung updated Galaxy S III to avoid ban by removing an advanced local search feature which Apple said was a copy of its own very similar feature.
A 10-member jury will hear evidence over at least four weeks, and it must reach a unanimous decision for Apple or Samsung to prevail on any of their claims. The stake for Apple are also high not only due to financial loss but due to competitive threats for Galaxy S III has far exceeded iPhone 4s in sales.
The trial between the tech giants may end up on anyone's side but the end-user user should undergo any annoyance as senn in some of the previous trials between these two companies.
